Rare metal dog nutcracker made in Italy. The dog looks like a retriever-type. The type of metal is unknown, possibly tin. The metal has a gold coating, but the top coat finish is wearing off-mainly on the base, as shown in photos. There is some tarnish on the nose, otherwise in good vintage condition! When you raise it's tail, it opens the mouth for the nut to be placed - so cute! It measures 9" L x 3.25" W x 5.75" tall. This would look great on a bookshelf, or give as a gift to a dog-lover! A really unique piece of decor.
