Beautiful and rare ornate German brass matchbox holder. It was some amazing details and features what looks like a Satyr. The bottom is marked "geschutzt" which is German and essentially means "copyright" or "protected."
Geschützt - German mark covering a proprietary copyright, used until 1883. Geschützt = 'Protected' in English). The mark was also used in Austria.
This item dates back to the late 1800's to early 1900s. Very unique and interesting. You could use it as a matchbox holder or card holder. Truly a unique antique! It measures 5.5" H x 4" W x 4" L
