Solid brass antique eagle door knocker sourced from a historic home in Greensboro, Georgia. Made in Korea - marked on the back. It has it's original patina on it including some paint splatters. It measures 7.5”H x 4.75” W. Some history on the eagle door knocker - "By the late 1700s, craftsmen had the means and motivation to move away from symbols of classical myth and heraldry. The newly independent United States of America adopted the eagle as a knocker design of choice. Symbolizing freedom, pride, victory, and a powerful connection to the divine from soaring high in the sky, this majestic bird epitomized the idealized American spirit."
