These were originally used in homes heated from oil, wood or coal stoves. Flue openings were not very attractive and these were used to decorate the room while covering the unattractive holes. There is a printed image under the glass that can exchanged for an image of your choosing. Very interesting chain outline keeping the glass in place. They measure 9.25” D X .25” H
